Preoperative Preparation and Postoperative Care
Preoperative preparation
● Must fully inform your doctor with your medical history for getting better evaluationof surgical treatment.
● Must cooperate with the clinic to conduct relevant pre-operative examinations (blood test, electrocardiogram, breast ultrasound / mammography) according to different surgical items.
● For surgery with general anesthesia, do not eat or drink for 8 hours before the operation.
● Please stop taking drugs that affect blood coagulation, such as aspirin, as well as healthy food or Chinese herbal medicines for promoting blood circulation.
● Do not wear makeup and skin care products, do not bring valuables, and remove phototherapy nails and contact lenses on the day of surgery.
● Do not drive or ride to the hospital by yourself on the day of surgery. Arrange transportation home with a friend or family member after your procedure, and avoid transferring by public transportation alone.
● Wear loose, comfortable clothing with a front button to facilitate wearing and taking off after surgery.
Postoperative Care
● Mild swelling and pain at the incision site within 48 hours after surgery are normal.
● Don't lift heavy objects for the first two weeks after surgery. No heavy lifting, straining, or strenuous activity, such as sports, riding motorcycles, etc., for at least 2 weeks to avoid bleeding at the surgical site and resulting in hematoma.
● Take the medicine on time and completely according to the doctor's advice to avoid wound infection.
● Do not remove the adhesive tape, gauze, and chest strap. After the first visit, the nursing staff will teach you how to change the wound dressing.
● Do not take a bath for 2 weeks to avoid the chance of increasing blood circulation and causing hematoma.
● Avoid smoking, drinking, spicy food, shellfish, and dietary supplements, such as ginseng chicken and sesame oil chicken for at least 2 weeks.
● The skin around the surgical site will be less sensitive after surgery, and it will be recovered over time.
